HIM is now streaming on Netflix, giving viewers another chance to dive into one of 2025’s most unsettling sports thrillers. Directed by Justin Tipping and produced by Jordan Peele, the film stars heartthrob Tyriq Withers as a rising quarterback whose dream season takes a sinister turn after a career-threatening injury and an invitation from his idol.
The movie follows Cameron Cade (Tyriq), a young football star who gets attacked by an unhinged fan and suddenly finds his future hanging in the balance. Just when it seems like everything is slipping away, he gets a lifeline from legendary quarterback Isaiah White, played by Marlon Wayans, who offers to train him at an isolated compound. What starts as a shot at redemption slowly becomes something far more disturbing.
That’s where HIM really separates itself from a standard sports drama. The film leans into themes of fame, power, and the price of chasing greatness, turning the idea of mentorship into something far more manipulative and eerie. As Cam’s training intensifies, Isaiah’s charm starts to crack, and the movie pushes deeper into psychological territory.
With its combination of sports prestige, horror tension, and bigger questions about success at any cost, HIM feels tailor-made for viewers who like their thrillers sharp and unsettling. Tyriq Withers holds the center of it all with a performance that gives the movie its emotional core, while Wayans adds a darker edge as the mentor who may not be what he seems.
If you missed it in theaters, Netflix is now giving the film a wider audience… and it’s still just as twisted, stylish, and easy to sink into. Stream it now on Netflix!
