Anna Faris is having a moment again, and honestly, it’s about time! With Scary Movie 6 already making a huge splash at the box office and reminding everyone why she’s one of comedy’s most lovable stars, the actress has also reignited hope that The House Bunny could someday return for a sequel.

The 2008 Happy Madison comedy has long held cult-favorite status, and for good reason. Anna starred as a former Playboy Bunny who gets kicked out of Hugh Hefner’s mansion and winds up becoming the house mother for a struggling sorority, turning the whole thing into one of the most quotable, offbeat, and unexpectedly heartfelt comedies of its era.

The film also starred Emma Stone, Kat Dennings, Colin Hanks, Katharine McPhee, Rumer Willis, Kiely Williams, Tyson Ritter, Christopher McDonald, and Beverly D’Angelo, helping make it one of those ensemble comedies fans still revisit constantly. Now, more than 15 years later, our queen says there may actually be movement behind the scenes.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at last night’s premiere, she teased the possibility while keeping expectations in check. “I would love to talk to you about House Bunny stuff,” she joked. “And it turns out, there’s interest. I never thought that dream would ever be realized either, and it’s too soon to say anything, but it turns out that movie is beloved, and that character too.”

That kind of comment is enough to send fans spiraling, especially because The House Bunny has only grown more beloved with time. What once felt like a silly early-2000s comedy has become a true comfort watch for a whole generation, thanks to Anna’s charming performance, the film’s sweet underdog energy, and the sheer amount of quotable chaos baked into it.

And timing-wise, this all lands perfectly! Scary Movie 6 is already blowing past expectations, reportedly eyeing a massive domestic opening after strong Thursday previews, which only reinforces that Faris still has serious box office pull. It also reminds Hollywood that she remains one of the most underused and underrated comedic actresses of her generation.

Whether a House Bunny sequel actually happens is still up in the air, but the fact that there’s even “interest” is enough to make fans hopeful. The original movie’s cast, style, and endearing weirdness gave it lasting power, and with Anna openly acknowledging that the character and film are still beloved, the door is finally cracked open just enough for the idea to feel possible.

For now, fans can celebrate the fact that Anna Faris is back in the spotlight exactly where she belongs… and maybe, just maybe, the Bunny House isn’t closed for good after all.
