We knew Charli xcx was about to put on a show, but THIS? Charli officially kicked off her highly anticipated MUSIC, FASHION, FILM TOUR last night at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, and judging by opening night, this might just be her best tour yet.
Underscores got the party started before Charli took over the arena for a massive set packed with fire, lights, choreography, new music, fan favorites and basically everything you could possibly want from a Charli xcx concert.
Opening night included the live debut of “Persona,” giving Philadelphia the honor of being the first crowd to experience the song live. But underscores wasn’t done after the opening set, either. Charli later welcomed her back to the stage, with the two performing “Do It” together for another opening-night surprise.
From there, the setlist pulled from all over Charli’s world, with everything from “Apple,” “Track 10” and “Vroom Vroom” to “360,” “Von dutch,” “party 4 u,” “2007” and newer tracks including “Wink Wink,” “Camera” and “No One Lasts Forever.”
Basically, good luck finding a bathroom break!
One of the most exciting details to come out of Philly is that Charli will perform a different surprise song every night of the tour, and she went WAY back for the first one.
Philly’s surprise song was “Stay Away,” reaching back to the early days of Charli’s career and a song she released while she was still a teenager. For longtime Angels, that’s a pretty special way to begin the tradition.
It also means every city now has another question to obsess over before Charli arrives: what surprise song are we getting?
Philadelphia was only the beginning. The North American run continues with two sold-out nights at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on September 14th and 15th before heading to Toronto, Boston, Washington, D.C., Austin, Atlanta, San Diego, Los Angeles, Glendale and Las Vegas. But the MUSIC, FASHION, FILM TOUR isn’t ending there.
Charli will bring the show overseas in February 2027 for six newly announced dates in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Amsterdam and Paris, with Audrey Hobert joining as support. Underscores will continue supporting Charli throughout the North American arena dates.
After months of wondering exactly what MUSIC, FASHION, FILM would look like when brought to life onstage, Philly finally gave us the answer… Fire, lights, deep cuts, surprise songs, and Charli completely in her element.
If this was only night one, we can’t WAIT to see what she has planned for the rest of the tour. Brooklyn, you’re next!
