Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” saga is finally returning to theaters the way it was always meant to be seen: as one epic, blood-soaked masterpiece.
The newly unified cut, “Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair,” will hit U.S. theaters on December 5th, clocking in at a glorious 281 minutes and featuring a brand new 7.5-minute animated sequence that fans have never seen before.
For the first time, audiences will get to experience both Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 fused together as one seamless, unrated story; complete with a 15-minute intermission for anyone who needs to catch their breath between the carnage.
“I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” Tarantino said in a statement. “The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”
The films, originally released in 2003 and 2004, starred Uma Thurman as Beatrix Kiddo, an ex-assassin on a revenge rampage against her former colleagues after they tried to murder her and her unborn child. The star-studded cast includes David Carradine, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, and Michael Parks.
Inspired by ‘70s kung fu cinema and revenge thrillers, the series became an instant cult classic and critical success, earning Thurman Golden Globe nominations for both films and grossing more than $330 million worldwide.
Now, more than two decades later, Tarantino fans can finally experience Kill Bill as one cinematic event: blood, brilliance, and all. Watch the official trailer below!
