Somebody call Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo because Disney just gave us another reason to celebrate the early 2000s!
As Hilary Duff continues her highly anticipated return to the spotlight, Disney is paying homage to the queen and one of her most beloved characters with a special treat for longtime fans: the original Lizzie McGuire television soundtrack is officially coming to vinyl for the very first time.
And naturally, it’s PINK. The soundtrack will be released on translucent pink vinyl, bringing together some of the songs that helped define an entire generation of Disney Channel viewers.
From Hilary’s iconic “I Can’t Wait” to music from Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore and S Club 7, the collection is basically a time machine back to the days of butterfly clips, flip phones and rushing home to watch Disney Channel.
Honestly, what a time to be alive. For anyone who grew up watching Lizzie McGuire, you already know how much this show meant to an entire generation.
Premiering in 2001, the beloved Disney Channel series followed Lizzie, played by Hilary Duff, as she navigated middle school, friendships, crushes and all the awkward moments that come with growing up. Between her unforgettable outfits, animated alter ego and relatable adventures, Lizzie quickly became one of Disney Channel’s most iconic characters.
And while the show introduced millions of fans to Hilary, it also helped launch the career of a pop star who would go on to give us hits like “Come Clean,” “So Yesterday” and “Wake Up.”
Now, more than two decades later, with Hilary once again making waves in music and entertainment, the timing of this release couldn’t feel more perfect.
