Matt Rife is the king of comedy, and at this point, he might be the king of Connecticut too.

The comedic superstar returned to Mohegan Sun Arena this weekend, taking the stage on Friday and Saturday night as part of his massive 2026 Stay Golden Tour. And if there was any question about just how strong his connection with his fans remains, two back-to-back sold-out nights should answer it.

Then again, selling out Mohegan Sun is nothing new for him. Back in 2024, Matt performed an incredible five sold-out shows at the arena, an accomplishment that earned him a place on the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame. Now, two years later, he’s returned with an even bigger career and another pair of packed shows under his belt.

Matt brought Doug Key, Finesse Mitchell, and Cam Bertrand along to get the crowd even more excited than we already were.

The Mohegan Sun shows arrive during what has already been a milestone year for Rife. In July, he became the youngest comedian ever to sell out New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden, performing two sold-out shows at one of the most famous venues in the world.

It’s another huge achievement in a career that continues to grow far beyond the viral clips that helped introduce Rife to millions of fans.

His Stay Golden Tour has brought him to arenas across the country throughout 2026, with select dates featuring a custom 360-degree, in-the-round stage setup. Instead of performing with the entire audience positioned in front of him, Rife is surrounded by fans, creating a completely different and more immersive comedy experience.

And he’s nowhere near finished yet. The tour continues through December 29th, when Rife is scheduled to wrap the run at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

FROM THE COMEDY STAGE TO THE BIG SCREEN

Fans will also get to see a different side of Rife when Rolling Loud: The Movie hits theaters October 2nd.

Directed by Jeremy Garelick, the comedy follows an overprotective father who sneaks his 13-year-old son into the massive Rolling Loud music festival, and naturally, things don’t exactly go according to plan.

Rife stars alongside Owen Wilson, Christine Ko, Henry Winkler and Christian Convery, with appearances from artists including Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign, Ski Mask the Slump God and Travis Scott. But apparently arenas and movie theaters aren’t enough, because Rife is taking things to sea next.

In February 2027, he’ll host his first-ever comedy cruise, Suite Rife on Deck. The four-night experience runs February 10 through February 14, sailing roundtrip from Miami to Grand Turk and turning a traditional comedy show into an entire vacation experience for fans.

From sold-out arenas and Madison Square Garden to movies and even a cruise ship, Rife continues to find new ways to expand what his career can look like.

But this weekend, it was all about Connecticut. After five sold-out Mohegan Sun shows earned him a spot on the venue’s Walk of Fame in 2024, coming back and adding another two sold-out nights to the list feels pretty fitting.

Seven sold-out Mohegan Sun shows and counting? Yeah, I think it’s safe to call Matt Rife the king of Connecticut too.
