Just two days after teasing fans with the message, “something horny is coming ;)”, Charli XCX has officially announced her brand-new single, “wink wink,” which arrives tomorrow alongside an accompanying music video.
“wink wink song and video out tomorrow 😉 9pm pdt / 12am edt / 5am bst,” Charli shared online, sending fans into an immediate frenzy. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the pop star also revealed that the song was actually a last-minute addition to this era.
In a new Instagram post alongside her creative director, Imogene, Charli opened up about the rollout for her upcoming album and shared that “wink wink” wasn’t originally part of the plan, making the surprise release feel even more spontaneous and exciting.
Honestly? Some of Charli’s best moments happen when she follows her instincts. The announcement arrives during an incredibly busy week for the queen.
Tonight in Paris, Charli will sit down for another edition of Conversations with Charli xcx, her intimate fan-focused series that dives into her creative process, songwriting, and artistic evolution.
