Kim Petras is back with another new chapter from her Detour era, and this time it’s the moody, slow-burn single Jeep,” out now.

The track finds Kim leaning into heartbreak and inevitability, singing to a love that feels doomed even as it unfolds, with the kind of dramatic tension she’s been getting especially good at turning into pop gold.

Rather than chasing a big neon rush, the song settles into something more cinematic and emotionally bruised, giving her voice space to float over a sound that feels both glossy and unsettled. It’s another reminder that Kim knows exactly how to make pop feel bigger when she strips it down.

The music video, which was directed by Leonie Miller-Aichholz, follows Kim and her boyfriend, played by Porches, on a road trip through the countryside that has an oddly Americana feel to it. That mix of beauty and melancholy fits the song perfectly and continues the more gritty direction Kim has been embracing in this current run.

And she’s not slowing down after the release. Kim is set to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tomorrow, May 7th, giving fans another chance to see her bring this era to life on TV.

WithJeepnow out in the world and Detour still unfolding, Kim Petras is clearly building something with a lot more depth, and a lot more bite, than your average pop rollout.
