An exciting new role just got taken…

Kristen Stewart has landed an incredible new role as Princess Diana for an upcoming biopic. The film will take place in the 1990’s and follow the weekend Diana decided her marriage to Prince Charles wasn’t going to work out. The film has been described as a “fairy tale turned upside down” and will be directed by Pablo Larraín.

Speaking to Deadline, Pablo opened up about the movie and the direction he’d be taking while directing the film. “We all grew up, at least I did in my generation, reading and understanding what a fairy tale is.”

“Usually, the prince comes and finds the princess, invites her to become his wife and eventually she becomes queen. That is the fairy tale. When someone decides not to be the queen, and says, I’d rather go and be myself, it’s a big, big decision, a fairy tale upside-down.” He continued, “I’ve always been very surprised by that and thought it must have been very hard to do. That is the heart of the movie.”

The drama film will also include Diana’s final Christmas at the Royal Family’s in 1992 at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk and is expected to begin filming at the beginning of 2021.
