Some stories stay with us long after the person telling them is gone.

The late Eric Dane, beloved for his roles in Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria, is leaving behind one final, deeply personal story with his upcoming memoir, My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, arriving Tuesday, November 3.

Published through The Open Field, Maria Shriver’s imprint at Penguin Random House, the book takes readers through the defining moments of Eric’s life, from his early days in Hollywood to his journey with sobriety, fatherhood and his battle with ALS.

But more than anything, it’s a story about time, love and appreciating the days we’re given.

MORE THAN JUST A HOLLYWOOD STORY

For millions of fans, Eric will forever be remembered as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on Grey’s Anatomy, a role that began as a guest appearance in 2006 and turned him into one of television’s most recognizable faces.

He later captivated audiences in The Last Ship and Euphoria, but behind the camera, Eric was experiencing a very different journey.

Following his ALS diagnosis, he began reflecting on the moments that shaped him, both beautiful and painful.

Told through a collection of meaningful “days,” the memoir explores his career, personal struggles, recovery and the perspective he gained while facing a terminal illness.

Perhaps most moving are the pages dedicated to his daughters, Billie and Georgia, including reflections on the future moments he knew he might not be there to experience.

It’s a heartbreaking but beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest moments become the ones that matter most.

JACOB ELORDI HELPS BRING ERIC’S WORDS TO LIFE

Adding another emotional layer to the release, Eric’s Euphoria costar Jacob Elordi will narrate the majority of the audiobook.

The two portrayed father and son on the HBO series, making Jacob’s involvement especially meaningful.

Maria Shriver will also lend her voice to the audiobook, narrating the introductory chapter she wrote.

Eric passed away in February 2026 at the age of 53, but through this memoir, his words and the lessons he wanted to share will live on.

And maybe that’s the most important message of all.

We spend so much time thinking about tomorrow that we sometimes forget how precious today really is.

My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments will be available November 3 in hardcover, ebook and audiobook formats.

Thank you for sharing your story, Eric. Your legacy lives on. Learn more about the book and preorder here.
