Something Out West is keeping the music coming!
The country-rock duo, made up of Chet Hanks and Drew Arthur, is back with their latest single, “How About You,” giving fans another reason to get excited about what’s next for the pair.
The release follows an exciting year for Chet and Drew, who’ve continued building their musical careers together while introducing audiences to their blend of country, rock and heartfelt storytelling.
For anyone who hasn’t been following their journey, Something Out West is a project born out of friendship and a shared love of music. The duo has developed a sound that combines Nashville influences with their own individual musical backgrounds, creating something that feels personal to both artists.
AN EXCITING CHAPTER FOR SOMETHING OUT WEST
In June 2025, the duo released their debut EP, Leaving Hollywood, introducing listeners to songs including “You Better Run,” “Bipolar Heart” and the project’s title track.
The EP marked an important milestone for Chet and Drew, showcasing their chemistry as collaborators and their ability to bring different musical influences together.
One of the project’s standout moments was the music video for “You Better Run,” which paid tribute to the beloved film Forrest Gump. Since then, the duo has continued growing their audience, bringing their music to new listeners and taking the stage at live events.
In July, Chet and Drew performed at the California Mid-State Fair, giving fans another opportunity to experience Something Out West live.
And with “How About You” now out, here’s hoping even more performances are on the horizon!

One of the most exciting things about following a newer musical project is getting to watch its sound and identity develop with each release.
Something Out West has already introduced fans to its musical direction through Leaving Hollywood, and “How About You” marks another addition to the duo’s growing catalog.
With their debut EP behind them and more music arriving, it’ll be exciting to see where Chet and Drew take the project next, whether that’s additional singles, another full project or more opportunities to connect with fans onstage.
