Jeremy Allen White has a new movie coming out this week, and while we’re VERY excited to see it, there’s currently another issue that needs to be addressed: why does he look this good everywhere he goes?
Jeremy is currently making the rounds promoting The Social Reckoning, Aaron Sorkin’s highly anticipated companion piece to The Social Network, and he’s been casually turning the film’s international press tour into one look after another.
London? Looked good. Paris? Looked good. New York? You already know.
The movie held its U.S. premiere at Regal Union Square in New York City yesterday, October 4, following premiere screenings in London and Paris, and Jeremy has been delivering throughout the entire run.
Consider us distracted.
FROM ‘THE BEAR’ TO INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST
Of course, there’s actually a VERY interesting movie underneath all of these outfits.
Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, The Social Reckoning takes audiences back into the world explored in The Social Network, this time focusing on events surrounding the 2021 Facebook leaks.
Jeremy stars as real-life Wall Street Journal investigative reporter Jeff Horwitz, whose reporting helped expose internal information about Facebook and the impact of its platforms.
The film follows Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison, as she joins forces with Horwitz and begins exposing some of the social media giant’s most closely guarded internal secrets.
And the cast is STACKED. Alongside Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong takes on the role of Mark Zuckerberg, with Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen and Bill Burr also appearing in the film.
BUT CAN WE GET BACK TO THE PRESS TOUR?
Because Jeremy has apparently decided promoting a serious Aaron Sorkin drama is also an opportunity to remind everyone that he can wear the hell out of a suit.
Throughout the international press run, Jeremy has been serving polished, understated looks that feel perfectly suited to him. Nothing feels overly styled or like the clothes are wearing him. It’s classic, sexy and effortless which, let’s be serious, is kind of his entire thing.
There’s also something fun about watching him step into this next chapter after becoming so closely associated with Carmy on The Bear. We’re used to seeing Jeremy in a white T-shirt and apron inside a chaotic Chicago kitchen, and suddenly he’s traveling around the world dressed to perfection while promoting an Aaron Sorkin movie.
We support the range.
And after London and Paris, bringing the press tour back to New York for the film’s U.S. premiere felt especially appropriate considering the journalistic story at the center of the movie.
‘THE SOCIAL RECKONING’ ARRIVES THIS WEEK
Behind the very attractive distraction is a film we’re genuinely excited to see.
The Social Network became one of the defining movies about the early age of social media, and The Social Reckoning tackles a very different chapter: what happens when the platform has grown into one of the most powerful forces in the world and people from inside begin exposing what’s happening behind closed doors.
With Sorkin returning to the subject as both writer and director, plus a cast featuring Jeremy Allen White, Mikey Madison and Jeremy Strong, there’s already plenty of reason to be interested.
And if Jeremy Allen White wants to continue looking ridiculously good while convincing us to buy a ticket? Well, marketing strategy accepted.
The Social Reckoning hits U.S. theaters this Friday, October 9th. Get tickets and showtimes here!
