Slayyyter fans, we have a job to do!
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards are almost here, and Slayyyter is officially nominated for Song of Summer with her summer anthem “BRAND NEW CHANEL$.”
And this one is up to the FANS. Voting for Song of Summer begins Saturday, September 26th at 11 a.m. ET and will only remain open for 24 hours, meaning we’re going to need everyone clocked in and ready.
HOW TO VOTE FOR SLAYYYTER
Unlike some of the other VMA categories, Song of Summer voting will take place directly through MTV’s Instagram Stories. The category will consist of one round of voting, where fans can simply tap to cast their vote.
Voting opens on Saturday, September 26th at 11 a.m. ET and closes Sunday, September 27th at 11 a.m. ET. So yes, set the alarm!
“BRAND NEW CHANEL$,” released under RECORDS/Columbia Records, has become one of the standout tracks of Slayyyter’s WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA era, making its Song of Summer recognition feel especially fitting.
But that’s not Slayyyter’s only nomination this year.

“DANCE…” also earned Slayyyter a nomination for Best Dance at this year’s awards, marking her first-ever MTV VMA nomination.
Now, with “BRAND NEW CHANEL$” joining the party in Song of Summer, she’s heading into VMA weekend with two nominations to celebrate. Not bad for the WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, huh?
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Snoop Dogg, air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, September 27th from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS, with a simulcast on MTV and streaming available through Paramount+ Premium in the U.S.
