Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s hit true-crime anthology series Monster is returning for its fourth season this fall, and we finally have our first official look at the blood-soaked next chapter: Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story.
Following seasons focused on Jeffrey Dahmer, the Menendez brothers and Ed Gein, Monster is shifting its focus to its first female alleged perpetrator, and the only one to be acquitted of her crimes.
The series follows Lizzie Borden, who was accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe inside the family home in 1892. Now, a new poster teases the grim atmosphere and high-stakes drama of the upcoming season, with Ella Beatty stepping into the role of Lizzie.
The cast also includes Charlie Hunnam as Andrew Borden, Rebecca Hall as Abby Borden, Vicky Krieps as Bridget Sullivan, Billie Lourd as Emma Borden and Jessica Barden as Nance O’Neill.
Thanks to an exclusive first look from Vanity Fair, we also have brand-new details, images and a confirmed release date. All eight episodes drop globally on Netflix on Tuesday, September 17th, giving fans a full month to dive back into the dark, twisted world of Ryan Murphy’s most talked-about anthology yet.
