Charli xcx is keeping the rollout for Music, Fashion, Film moving at full speed with the release of “Camera,” the latest song and video from the album ahead of its arrival this Friday.
Directed by longtime collaborator Aidan Zamiri, the black-and-white visual puts actor Vincent Cassel front and center on a chaotic film set.
In the video, Cassel plays a man caught in the aftermath of a fiery car crash, only for the production itself to keep unraveling around him thanks to makeup mishaps, phone calls, and special effects going wrong. Through it all, Charli sits above the action, literally perched on the camera and controlling the scene.
The new track follows previously released songs like “Rock Music” and “SS26,” continuing the album’s split-brain concept across music, fashion, and film. If those titles were Charli’s statement for the first two pillars of the project, “Camera” is her answer for the third.
With Music, Fashion, Film set to drop this Friday, “Camera” feels like another sharp, cinematic tease for what’s shaping up to be one of Charli’s most ambitious projects yet.
