Jessica Chastain is heading into horror territory this fall with Other Mommy, the chilling new supernatural thriller from Universal Pictures.
The film’s first official trailer arrived today, introducing a story centered on young Bela, who begins forming an unsettling connection with a mysterious entity living inside her home. That presence takes on the appearance of her own mother, turning an ordinary family dynamic into a full-blown psychological nightmare.
Jessica takes on dual roles in the film, playing both Bela’s mother and the sinister “Other Mommy.” The cast also includes Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia, Dichen Lachman, Arian Moayed, and Karen Allen.
Directed by Rob Savage, who previously helmed Host and The Boogeyman, the film continues his streak of creeping, atmospheric horror. The film is produced by James Wan and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, with additional executive producers including Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Rob Savage, Josh Malerman, and Ryan Lewis.
Set for an exclusive theatrical release on October 9th, 2026, Other Mommy looks primed to deliver the kind of spooky-season scare fans have been waiting for.
