Broadway is about to welcome one of country music’s biggest legends!
Dolly Parton is officially bringing her extraordinary life story to the stage with DOLLY: A True Original Musical, opening at the historic St. James Theatre with previews beginning this December.
Told in Dolly’s own words and through the songs that shaped her incredible career, the production follows her journey from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to becoming one of the most beloved entertainers in the world.
“My whole life has been a musical. A grand ole opera, really, and I can’t wait to bring it to you on Broadway. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I’ve enjoyed livin’ it!” Dolly shared.
The production features a book by Dolly Parton and Maria S. Schlatter and is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher. Fans can look forward to hearing some of Dolly’s most iconic songs, including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You,” alongside brand-new music written especially for the musical.
