John Summit is officially back with his sophomore album, CTRL ESCAPE, out now via Darkroom Records and his own imprint, Experts Only. The release lands on April 15th for a reason, with the project’s corporate-office concept tying directly into Tax Day and Summit’s own unlikely rise from CPA to globally in-demand DJ.
The album leans into that idea hard, using office imagery and the pressure of the nine-to-five grind as a larger metaphor for breaking free. It’s a clever frame for a record that feels designed to capture both the chaos and release that come with chasing something bigger than the life you were expected to live. For Summit, that story makes the album feel personal without losing the larger-than-life energy that has made him one of dance music’s biggest names.
CTRL ESCAPE also arrives with a stacked guest list that pushes the project across multiple lanes of electronic and pop crossover. Features include Absolutely, Devault, KILIMANJARO, LAVINIA, Ilsey, The Chainsmokers, Feid, Nija, Rohaan, Julia Church, and Julia Wolf, giving the album a wide range of textures and voices.
Ahead of the release, fans can already pre-order the album on vinyl and CD through Summit’s official website, while limited-edition merch is also available now. It’s a smart rollout for an album that feels built not just as a listening experience, but as a full creative era.
With CTRL ESCAPE, Summit is turning a major career moment into a statement about reinvention, ambition, and escaping the system one beat at a time.
