I am overjoyed to share this months interview with you guys. I got the chance to interview the amazing and beautiful Kate Young. Kate is a Hollywood stylist and is one of the most unique ones out there. She’s styled celebrities from Dakota Johnson all the way to Selena Gomez.  Kate, thank you so much for your time and advice. I adore you!

XO Diva D

David- First off, I just want to say thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this for my website. You have no idea how happy I am! So, you started your career on the editorial side but then moved to styling. How did you begin styling and what made you want to do it?

Kate- I was styling celebrities for shoots and they would ask me to dress them for upcoming events because they liked the clothes I brought for the shoot, so it was an organic transition.

David- What is a typical day of  Kate Young look like?

Kate- There isn’t one! It changes all the time. I exercise, try to meditate and take my kids to school and then go to work – to my office/ a shoot / a fitting or a consulting thing.

David- With Summer coming right around the corner, can you tell me what you’ll be wearing a lot of?

Kate: I’m into printed dresses – which is weird for me. I’m wearing one from number 21 today and I also bought some from Vetements and Saint Laurent.

David- You have a killer body and amazing skin. What are your tips, I need them!!

Kate- Ummm. Thank you!  That made my day. I exercise. Don’t eat garbage, only real food.  and get facials.

David-  You released your first book that I have been trying to get my hands on for some time now but still can’t get, “Dressing for the Dark: From the Silver Screen to the Red Carpet” in 2014. What was the writing process for the book and can we expect another one from you anytime soon?

Kate-  I don’t think I’ll write another. Honestly it was really hard. Styling is far easier for me.

David- You’ve styled some of the biggest names in Hollywood, one of them being my girl Selena Gomez. How is it working with them?

Kate-  They’re all different just the same as normal people – but it’s incredibly fun to have my work seen on such a large scale.

David- What are some of your favorite foods/things to cook?

Kate- I like to make kale bowls and coconut curry, and pickles.

David- My biggest dream after High School is to intern for someone like you who has had so much experience in the industry and then go off to New York or LA to be a journalist. Is there any advice you could give to me to make my biggest dreams a reality?

Kate- Work as hard as you can at school and get into the best college possible. Read and go to museums and see plays, movies and music. The richer your cultural / aesthetic life is the more interesting you will be.
