Rolling Loud: The Movie, starring Matt alongside Owen Wilson, hits theaters next Friday, October 2nd, bringing the chaos of one of the world’s biggest hip-hop festivals straight to movie theaters. And when we say the movie brings you into Rolling Loud, we mean it.
Portions of the scripted comedy were actually filmed on the grounds of Rolling Loud Miami in 2024, meaning thousands of real festivalgoers unknowingly became part of the action.
WELCOME TO ROLLING LOUD
Inspired by a true story, Rolling Loud: The Movie follows an overprotective father who makes what might be the worst parenting decision imaginable:
Sneaking his 13-year-old son into Rolling Loud. What could possibly go wrong? Basically everything.
The decision sends the pair into a chaotic adventure alongside the father’s reckless co-worker and an eccentric festival volunteer as they attempt to navigate enormous crowds, tight security and some increasingly complicated family dynamics.
Adding another level of authenticity to the movie, one of its major sequences was filmed in the middle of Travis Scott’s closing set at Rolling Loud Miami, blending the scripted story with the energy of the actual festival happening around them.

Written and directed by Jeremy Garelick, the movie brings together an appropriately wild cast for a story set inside Rolling Loud.
Owen Wilson and Matt Rife star alongside Travis Scott, Sexyy Red, Henry Winkler, Playboi Carti, Ski Mask and Ty Dolla $ign, bringing comedy and some very familiar faces from hip-hop together in one movie.
For Matt, the release adds yet another major project to an already packed year. He’s been traveling the world making audiences laugh on his massive Stay Golden Tour, selling out arenas along the way and now fans are about to see another side of him on movie screens across the country.
