Matt Rife is bringing one of paranormal history’s most infamous collections to Salem! The Haunted Warren Museum officially opens today, August 27th, for a limited-time run, and yes, the real Annabelle doll is part of the experience.
Last August, the comedian, actor and author announced that he and paranormal creator Elton Castee had purchased the Monroe, Connecticut home and museum of famed investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The pair also became legal guardians of the Warren collection for at least five years, including the doll that inspired the Annabelle and The Conjuring films.
“If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted,” Matt shared when he announced the purchase. “The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. So I’m incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history.”
Now, that collection is heading to Salem, Massachusetts, just in time for spooky season. Located at 259 Essex Street, the Haunted Warren Museum includes more than 1,000 artifacts spread across 13 exhibits, including Annabelle, the Shadow Doll, the Satanic Idol, the Conjuring Mirror and other objects connected to the Warrens’ decades of paranormal investigations.
Visitors can explore the museum through self-guided, flashlight-led experiences designed to take roughly an hour. The Salem run is currently scheduled through November 1st.
For anyone who wants to take the fear factor to another level, Matt and Elton are also giving fans the opportunity to book overnight stays at the actual Warren House in Monroe, Connecticut. The stays include access to the historic home and a paranormal-investigation experience.
