Sammy Wilk is turning one of life’s most difficult experiences into a message of hope.
The singer and creator has announced his new children’s book, Love Leaves Clues, a touching story inspired by the loss of his best friend, Mike Kiger, who passed away earlier this year.
“I lost my best friend Mike Kiger in March of this year. I’ve struggled hard trying to process the grief and I’m slowly realizing it’s something I’ll carry forever. Not a day goes by where I don’t feel Mike’s presence or notice a sign that could only be him,” Sammy shared while announcing the book on Instagram.
According to its official synopsis, Love Leaves Clues is a heartfelt story about love, loss, and the quiet ways the people we miss continue to stay with us. Through imagination, wonder, and gentle reminders hidden in the world around us, the beautifully illustrated book encourages both children and adults to believe that love never truly disappears.
Sammy also revealed that writing the book became part of his own healing journey.
“I wrote this children’s book with him in the clouds on a morning walk a couple days after he crossed over. In a weird way, it’s brought me a lot of peace. Maybe it can do the same for you or your little ones along the way,” he wrote.
He concluded the emotional announcement with a heartfelt tribute to his lifelong friend: “Rest in Peace Mikey. I know I’m a bit needy, but please keep showing me signs. I promise I’ll keep noticing you. Love you forever.”
