Mr. Fantasy is officially gearing up to take over the summer in his own very particular way. His new single and music video, “Do Me Right,” drops on May 1st, and if his own description is anything to go by, this one is going to be “BIG BABY BIG!” which sounds exactly like the kind of unhinged pop energy he’s been building toward.
The release follows a run of songs that helped shape the character’s surreal little universe, including “Mr. Fantasy,” “Catapult,” “Wayuwanna,” and “One Last Night.” Taken together, the songs have turned Mr. Fantasy into more than just a viral gimmick; he’s become a full-on pop spectacle, complete with a personality and visual world that people can’t help but keep watching.
Part of what has made the project stick is how committed it is to the bit. Mr. Fantasy, the 70s-inspired, black-bob-wig, British-accent alter ego associated with KJ Apa, has already shown up everywhere from the internet’s feeds to the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where he appeared on the Jolly Polly Pirate Ship float. That kind of commitment is exactly why the whole thing keeps getting bigger.
Now, with “Do Me Right” on the way, it feels like Mr. Fantasy is stepping into his next phase with full confidence. The timing is perfect for a summer-ready pop rollout, and if this new song is as big as he says it is, then we may be looking at another viral fever dream in the making.
