ZAYN is back with his fifth studio album, KONNAKOL, and this one feels like a serious artistic step forward.

Released via Mercury Records, the 15-track project leans hard into the South Asian vocal and rhythmic traditions that have always shaped his sound, but here those influences are front and center in a way that makes the record feel both personal and ambitious.

What makes KONNAKOL stand out is how fully it embraces that identity. The title itself nods to the South Indian vocal percussion practice that gives the album its name, while the artwork’s snow leopard imagery adds another layer of cultural symbolism.

ZAYN has said the project is his “most culturally inspired yet,” and that comes through in the way the album balances pop-R&B polish with deeper rhythmic texture and heritage-driven inspiration.

ZAYN is heading to late-night TV for his first-ever Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon interview and performance, followed by a stop on The Drew Barrymore Show. But the momentum doesn’t stop there! ZAYN will embark on The KONNAKOL Tour on May 12th in Manchester, taking the new album across major cities around the world before wrapping in Miami on November 20th.

After the response to Room Under the Stairs and his recent solo work, this next phase feels like ZAYN fully owning his lane: one that’s bigger, more rooted, and more confident than ever.
