Get ready to laugh, cry, and maybe gasp a little—NBC is finally giving Joan Rivers the tribute she deserves. The network has announced a one-hour primetime special titled “Joan Rivers: A Dead Funny All-Star Tribute“, set to air Tuesday, May 13th at 10PM EST/PST on NBC. The uncensored and extended version will be on Peacock beginning the day after, May 14th.
The special will feature appearances by Nikki Glaser, Tiffany Haddish, Chelsea Handler, Neil Patrick Harris, Rachel Brosnahan, Margaret Cho, Bill Maher, Howie Mandel, Joel McHale, Tracy Morgan, Patton Oswalt, Aubrey Plaza, Sarah Silverman, Melissa Rivers, Jean Smart, and Rita Wilson, according to Peacock.
They’ll celebrate the legacy of the icon who changed comedy, fashion, and celebrity culture forever—with signature Joan-style boldness, of course.
Filmed during the 2024 New York Comedy Festival‘s opening night at The Apollo, the special celebrates Joan’s unfiltered humor and trailblazing legacy. Hosted by her daughter Melissa Rivers, the event benefits God’s Love We Deliver, a charity Joan passionately supported.
From her red carpet takedowns to breaking barriers for women in comedy, Joan Rivers wasn’t just a comedian—she was a cultural force. This tribute? Long overdue and absolutely necessary.
