Fans rejoice! Raye is gearing up for her debut album, and we finally have a release date. “My 21st Century Blues,” drops on February 3rd, 2023. The multi-platinum global artist took to social media to announce the album with pure excitement. “I cannot actually believe I am writing this. I was 7 years old when I wrote my first song. I was 10 years old when I made the commitment that I would be a professional musician,” she shared.
“I was 15 years old when I released my first song. I was 17 years old when I signed my record deal. I am about turn 25 years old, and I get to tell youโฆ (As an independent artist), My debut album, ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฌ, is available for pre-order now,” she said. While the release is some time away, the superstar also gave fans a special surprise earlier this week with two new songs, “The Thrill Is Gone” and “Escapism” (feat.ย 070 Shake).”
The singer described the upcoming record as “the ugly complex beautiful mosaic formed from broken pieces of glass from the last 7 years of my life.” She has been open about her struggles to release her own music with the label not allowing her to do so. It’s refreshing to see someone who has shared their journey, the highs and the lows, finally get to see what they deserve.
