It’s Mariah’s world and we’re just living in it, dahhhling!
Mariah Carey is ready for her closeup and is looking incredible while doing so. The legendary, and seemingly ageless, singer sat down with Cosmopolitan for their August issue to chat about her career, childhood, writing music, and the current people in the entertainment industry.
“They have no idea what I went through as a child to even get to be an 18-year-old girl with a record deal,” she says about the difference between her and the new batch of people in the industry. “This was before you could just go on YouTube and sing.”
The Queen of Christmas also opened up about the rocky childhood she had that ended up shaping her into the festive loving person she is today. “As a kid, I always hoped for great Christmases, and we didn’t have them,” she said.
She continued, “My brother and sister would come back to wherever I was with my mom, and they’d be fighting and ruining the holiday. I would still be like You know what? I just want to have the best time.”
