Charli XCX has finally done what many Angels feared (and kind of knew) was coming: she’s put the brat era to bed. After nearly two years of neon‑green graphics, brat walls, chaotic club shows, and an internet takeover that turned “brat summer” into a lifestyle, Charli has made it clear she’s moving on, and she’s doing it on her own terms.
Over the last few weeks, fans started clocking the signs. The once-essential @360_brat alt account (home to rollout crumbs, wall snapshots, and brat brain-dumps) was wiped clean, its posts deleted or archived and its icon swapped out for something colder, more minimal.
In place of chaotic green, there was emptiness and a single emotional Notes app screenshot thanking Angels for believing in her, understanding her nuance, and riding with her through what became the biggest era of her career so far. She’s also spoken openly about wanting to “put brat in the ground” and step into something new.
Between the release of her mockumentary The Moment and her growing film work, Charli’s made it clear that brat did exactly what it needed to do: it blew open the doors, brought a whole new wave of people into her world, and then started to feel like a cage she was ready to step out of. As she’s said in recent conversations, nothing lasts forever, and it’s more exciting to leave an era while it’s still burning hot than to let it fizzle out.
That doesn’t mean brat disappears. The album and era changed her trajectory: chart peaks, Grammys, sold-out shows, endless memes, a million think-pieces, and a whole new language for messy, hyper-online pop stardom. It also gave her the leverage to pivot into acting, soundtracks, and more ambitious visual projects, showing that the “party girl” persona could coexist with a serious, self-aware artist who knows exactly what she’s doing.
So yes, the brat era is over. No more “summer forever,” no more 360 brat updates (yet), no more living in that specific fluorescent universe. Whatever comes next for Charli is going to be shaped by everything she learned in the chaos. She got what she needed from brat, gave us more than we deserved, and now she’s onto her next main‑character chapter, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what that might be.
