Spencer Pratt is officially stepping into the political arena!

The reality TV alum and longtime Los Angeles resident announced his bid for mayor of Los Angeles during the anniversary of the devastating Palisades Fire, making the announcement at a They Let Us Burn rally held in Palisades Village today. The moment was intentional, emotional, and rooted in frustration over what Pratt has repeatedly called systemic failure.

“And let me be clear, this just isn’t a campaign, this is a mission,” Spencer said. “We are going to expose the system. We are going into every dark corner of LA politics and disinfecting this city with our light. And when we are done, LA is going to be camera-ready again.”

Spencer has been an outspoken critic of both city and state leadership regarding wildfire preparedness and emergency response. At Wednesday’s rally, he reiterated those concerns before officially announcing his run for mayor, framing his campaign as a direct response to what he views as dangerous inaction.

“Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m done waiting for someone to take real action,” Pratt said. “That’s why I am running for mayor.”

Those interested in learning more or getting involved can visit the official Pratt For Mayor website for additional details and updates on the campaign.

Adding to what is already shaping up to be a busy start to 2026, Pratt’s memoir, “The Guy You Loved to Hate,” drops January 27th. The book promises a deeper look at his public persona and evolution, and is now available for pre-order here!

One thing is certain: Spencer Pratt is no longer just talking, he’s officially in the race.
