Charli XCX has officially stepped into her movie star era, and the first teaser for A24’s “The Moment” proves it’s about to be one of the cultural resets of 2026.
The film, written and directed by Aidan Zamiri and based on an original idea from Charli herself, hits theaters nationwide on January 26th, 2026. And from the very first frame, it’s clear this isn’t just another pop-star project, this is Charli dissecting the machine… while still feeding it.
“The Moment” follows a pop star grappling with the pressures of fame as she prepares for her first arena tour. Even though it’s a scripted film, the lines between reality and fiction are deliciously blurred. Charli appears to play a version of herself, and the teaser includes nods to her real-world universe: BRAT signage, her name in bold print, and that unmistakable neon-green energy that became a cultural phenomenon.
The cast is stacked in true A24 fashion: Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Isaac Cole Powell, Rish Shah, and Trew Mullen all appear in the film, each bringing their own chaotic magic into Charli’s fever-dream world of fame.
“When I felt like people started to care about me, nothing else mattered,” Charli says in the trailer. “Nothing was more important than Brat.” It’s vulnerable, meta, and so Charli-coded in the best way.
If BRAT defined 2024, “The Moment” is going to own 2026. Pop culture is about to get fed by Charli XCX yet again.
