Grace VanderWaal has released the official music video for her new single, “High,” and it’s every bit as hypnotic and heartfelt as the song itself.

Directed and edited by Palmer Wells with choreography by Kali Hightower, the video mirrors the track’s dreamy rhythm: a blend of grounded movement and emotion that captures the delicate push and pull between calm and release.

Set against soft, cinematic visuals, Grace’s performance feels completely unguarded… quiet yet magnetic, vulnerable yet powerful. The result is an intimate world that draws you in and doesn’t let go.

Built around nostalgic snapshots like “white sugar in iced tea and porch light” and “my breath starts to slow, in the front seat saying man it’s been a long time,” the song captures the fleeting, golden haze of connection and memory. It’s tender, reflective, and somehow feels like summer captured in sound.

“I went into the studio with no idea what I was going to write,” Grace shared in an official press release. “I just started singing, ‘Do you wanna get high?’ and from there the idea came to make a song about those moments where everything already feels perfect… and then your friend looks at you and says, ‘You know what would make this even better?’”

“High” marks Grace’s first new music since the release of her sophomore album, “CHILDSTAR,” earlier this year; a deeply personal project that showcased her growth as both an artist and a storyteller. The new single continues that evolution, with Grace exploring vulnerability and self-reflection in her most natural, honest form yet.
