Jeremy Allen White is the latest star to take on Hot Ones, and yes, the internet’s favorite chef-turned-heartthrob served both vulnerability and chaotic flower-arranging energy while downing increasingly spicy wings.

While talking about his upcoming role that required him to learn guitar, Jeremy admitted it was one of his most intimidating challenges yet. “Picking up a guitar for the first time when you’ve never held one before, and knowing in six months you have to be playing it, that was humbling,” he said. “And the most frightened I’ve been in my work life.”

The The Bear actor also addressed his now-viral love of floral arrangements, and honestly… it’s kind of poetic. “I think more recently, I’ve embraced sort of different lengths. I don’t cut everything the same length. I’m not afraid of putting different textured flowers all in the same thing,” he explained. “The more chaos in that vase, the better. You can’t go wrong.” Say it with flowers, king!

Things got a little emotional too when he reflected on wrapping Shameless, the series he spent 12 years on. “For me, it felt like a funeral,” he admitted. “Saying goodbye to that security, those people, and Phillip Gallagher… it was very difficult. It was very sad. And it felt like walking into the unknown.”

And because this is Jeremy, we got some peak chaotic storytelling as well… like the time he gave himself a migraine trying to sing “Born in the U.S.A.” “It’s shouting in key,” he laughed. “I wasn’t breathing properly… and I got knocked out. I was on my back. I was sweating.”

Don’t miss Jeremy in “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” hitting theaters on October 24th! In the meantime, check out the full episode of Hot Ones with Jeremy below.
