The Britney Army has won again. “Scary,” one of the most iconic deep cuts of the Femme Fatale era, is finally on streaming for the first time ever, just in time for spooky season.
Originally released in March 2011 as part of the Japanese Deluxe Edition of Femme Fatale, “Scary” quickly became a cult favorite among the Army.
The track, composed by Britney herself, blends seductive vocals and haunting production into a Halloween-worthy pop moment that’s been missing from streaming for far too long.
Femme Fatale itself was a monumental era. The album debuted at #1 in Canada, Australia, and Russia, giving Britney her sixth #1 album on the Billboard 200.
It delivered three Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 singles: “Hold It Against Me,” “Till the World Ends,” and “I Wanna Go,” and Billboard praised it as “chock full of uptempo dance numbers charged with lyrics about first looks, second glances and stolen moments.”
The Femme Fatale Tour was also a glittery pop spectacle that grossed over $68 million worldwide, ranking as the eleventh highest-grossing tour of 2011. It also marked Britney’s first televised concert since 2004 with a 2D and 3D special filmed in Toronto.
Now, “Scary” is finally where it belongs, streaming worldwide, and it feels like stepping right back into one of Britney’s most thrilling eras.
Happy Britneyween friends!
