Charli XCX’s film era is in full swing. The pop icon has officially revealed the star-studded cast for her upcoming A24 movie, The Moment, which is set to drop next year and the lineup is incredible.
Alongside Charli, the cast includes Rachel Sennott, Rish Shah, Alexander Skarsgård, Kylie Jenner, Trew Mullen, Mel Ottenberg, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Arielle Dombasle, Hailey Benton Gates, Richard Perez, Isaac Powell, Tish Weinstock, Michael Workéyè, Shygirl, and A. G. Cook, who will also be producing the film’s soundtrack.
Based on Charli’s own idea, The Moment follows a rising pop star navigating the complexities of fame and industry pressure as she prepares for her arena tour debut. The film was written by Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes, with Zamiri also producing alongside Charli.
This reveal follows the teaser for the film, which gave fans their first glimpse of the project. The Moment comes as Charli closes one huge chapter of her music career, wrapping her brat era, and steps confidently into the world of film.
A24 continues its hot streak with this project, arriving on the heels of buzzy festival premieres like Pete Ohs’ Erupcja (which debuted at TIFF) and Julia Jackman’s 100 Nights of Hero, which debuted at Venice and closes the London Film Festival next week.
Between the cast, the concept, and Charli’s vision, this one is already shaping up to be major. You guys smell that? Me too. An Emmy is coming!
