Five years after releasing her second EP ALIAS, Shygirl is celebrating in style! Originally released on November 20th, 2020, through Because Music and her own label Nuxxe, the EP became an instant favorite among fans and critics alike.

Today, Shygirl announced a limited vinyl reissue of the EP, and the early drop has already sold out completely through her official store.

If you missed out on the first wave, don’t panic: general sale goes live tomorrow, October 10th, at 5AM EST / 2AM PST exclusively on her website. Yes, you might want to set that alarm.

When ALIAS first arrived, Ashley Bardhan of Pitchfork praised it, writing, “In a year of no touching, these euphoric party moments feel far away, but Shygirl’s endearing hedonism brings that sweaty room a bit closer. Alias is a glittering light, a portal into the future and everything you might do.”

The EP featured collaborations with Sega Bodega and the late SOPHIE, blending futuristic club sounds with Shy’s signature edge.

“It’s been 5 years since ALIAS and a lot has changed but some things stay the same. It’s time to dip back and remind you,” Shy shared with fans this morning. “Repressing the vinyl and it’s the same but different. Some of you got the early drop today but general sale hits the streets tmro.”

This vinyl drop is a full-circle moment for one of the defining EPs of the late 2010s club scene, and a reminder of just how special ALIAS still is.
