The pop princess has spoken!
Slayyyter hopped on Tumblr Wednesday night for a quick chat with fans, and, of course, the internet lit up. The icon answered questions about her new record, inspirations, hobbies, and merch, and honestly… she gave us some real tea.
When asked whether the new record would be dropping before the end of the year, Slayyyter was honest. “No, next. Sorry if that disappoints but I think people are too quick to expect things right away nowadays,” she wrote.
“Music and content move so fast, I know maybe as a listener it might feel long or annoying when a rollout drags but I think things need time to breathe. With the internet, things just absolutely come and go so fast lately and I haaate it. I’m still pretty small, and this art means a lot to me.”
She continued, “I think good things take time and good pacing and building. I think the journey is all part of the fun. idk!!”
So while we might not get the album this year, our queen is clearly taking her time to make something special.
When fans asked what she’s been up to in her free time, Slayyyter revealed a new creative outlet: “Clothing design and construction has been a big thing for me lately. Designing clothes and sewing as of late, rhinestoning shit, making videos even tho i guess that’s work too but i love directing so much.”
As for the vibe of the upcoming era, expect something personal and nostalgic. Slayyyter said she’s “taken a lot of inspiration from pictures of costumes I wore as a kid, princessy dresses, ballerinas, dress up kind of clothing like the uptown girls star shoe replicas I made.”

She also shouted out the legendary Brittany Murphy as her ultimate style icon. “A lot of nods to things I grew up loving. Brittany Murphy is my favorite style icon overall, not even just red carpet but even her street style was so effortlessly cool to me.”
Merch is also in the works…and from the sounds of it, it’s going to be next level. “It’s taking me longer because I am making insane cool shit that doesn’t feel like artist merch and that takes a while to do.”
In the meantime, keep streaming “BEAT UP CHANEL$” and “CANNIBALISM!” like your life depends on it, because, honestly, it kind of does.
