Charli XCX is officially making her mark on the big screen. The pop star just shared the first teaser for her upcoming film 100 Nights of Hero, directed by Julia Jackman, and it’s already one of the most anticipated premieres of the year.

The film stars an incredible ensemble including Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Maika Monroe, Amir El-Masry, Richard E. Grant, Felicity Jones, and of course, Charli herself.

Based on the beloved graphic novel by Isabel Greenberg, the story follows Cherry, a woman trapped in an unhappy marriage with Jerome, whose only comfort comes from her maid, Hero. Hero belongs to a secret society devoted to preserving the stories of rebellious women who met unjust fates.

When Jerome mysteriously leaves on a “business trip” and his charming friend Manfred enters the picture, Cherry finds herself torn between forbidden feelings for Hero and the dangerous allure of a man who finally listens to her. But in a world where rebellious women rarely survive, the question becomes: can Cherry and Hero escape their fate?

Director Julia Jackman shared her excitement about the project: “It’s been a joy to shape its world and characters into something new, and I’m thrilled it found a home at Independent Film Company. I cannot wait to share it with a broader audience, led by the extraordinary talents of our brilliant ensemble cast.”

100 Nights of Hero will make its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 6th in Italy before hitting theaters on December 5th.

Charli XCX celebrated the teaser reveal on Instagram, writing: “i’m in a film called 100 nights of hero. this is the teaser ❤ very enchanted to be a part of this. directed by julia jackman. in theatres dec 5.”

With a powerhouse cast, an acclaimed director, and Charli XCX stepping into film in a major way, 100 Nights of Hero is already shaping up to be one of 2025’s most exciting releases.
