YUNGBLUD has taken his vision to the big screen.
The singer just dropped YUNGBLUD. Are You Ready, Boy?, a brand-new film recorded at Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios. The film features a live performance of every single track from his latest record, Idols, his fourth studio album released on June after a four-year recording journey.
“When I had this idea, my bucket list director was Paul Dugdale because I knew he’d tell the story with truth and authenticity,” Dom shared. “You have to be willing to allow the uncomfortable and the scary to be shown to the world, and I hope you love it.”
The project captures not just the music, but the raw energy and headspace Dom was in while creating Idols. Speaking exclusively with NME, he admitted, “With this album, I made a conscious effort to not over explain what it was about.”
“This film will really show people what I was going through when I was making it,” he said. It’s a hell of a film. I watched it once, approved it, but I’ll never watch it again — it’s too uncomfortable.”
And the momentum doesn’t stop there. YUNGBLUD’s IDOLS WORLD TOUR kicks off this Saturday in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium, which he’s already calling his “most ambitious show yet.”
The tour will then hit San Diego, Salt Lake City, Denver, Austin, Dallas, and Atlanta before going international in October. Ticket info and dates can be found here.
YUNGBLUD. Are You Ready, Boy? will continue to play in select U.S. theaters this weekend. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the most unfiltered, electrifying concert films of the year.
