Dominic Fike is back and dropping a brand-new mixtape this Friday, and it already feels like a cultural reset.
His newest project, Rocket, the project is named after his son, who made a surprise appearance at the end of Dom’s Lollapalooza set earlier this month.
Just days later, the announcement came through: a whole new mixtape, ready to soundtrack the rest of our summer.
To give fans a taste of what’s coming, Dom dropped three tracks straight off the project: “All Hands on Deck,” “Aftermath,” and “Smile.” Each one feels like its own world: vibey, emotional, and classic Dom.
Rocket will feature 12 songs in total, serving as the follow-up to last summer’s EP 14 Minutes. And because it wouldn’t be Dominic Fike without a twist, he also launched an interactive game on his website called Dominic Fike Is Your Interactive Buddy.
The game is chaotic, fun, and perfectly Dom. You can play it now while counting down the days until the mixtape release. With the mixtape dedicated to his son, Rocket, this project already feels like one of Dom’s most personal and heartfelt yet.
Fans have been quick to call it one of the most exciting drops of the year, and judging by the buzz (and those already released tracks), they’re absolutely right.
