2025 is shaping up to be a seriously stacked year for film!
From emotional dramas that will have us reaching for tissues, to edge-of-your-seat thrillers that will keep us up at night. Whether it’s fresh indie gems or major studio blockbusters, the upcoming slate already has something for every kind of movie fan.
Here are a few of the titles I’m counting down the days to see. 🍿
HIM (2025)
This one had me stressed just from the trailer. It follows a rising football star invited to train at a mysterious, isolated compound, and you just know something sinister is brewing. It’s giving cult, it’s giving psychological horror, and it looks like it’s going to mess with your head in the best way.
A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY (2025)
When fate unexpectedly intertwines their paths, single strangers Sarah and David get a rare chance to revisit pivotal moments from their pasts, uncovering how those experiences shaped their lives today.
MARTY SUPREME (2025)
Marty is a young man chasing a dream no one believes in, but is determined to prove himself. He goes through every trial imaginable in his relentless quest for greatness.
TWINLESS (2025)
After the death of his identical twin, Rocky, introverted Roman returns home for the funeral. In his grief, Roman joins a twin bereavement group where he meets Dennis, whose uncanny resemblance to Rocky sparks a bond that’s as heartwarming as it is complicated.
THE STRANGERS: CHAPTER 2 (2025)
When the masked killers from the first film discover that survivor Maya is still alive, they return to finish the job. Trapped and with no one to trust, Maya must fight to outwit and outlast three relentless psychopaths.
ROOFMAN (2025)
Yes, you read that right. Based on a wild true story, this one follows Jeffrey Manchester, an escaped prisoner and former soldier who hides out in a literal Toys “R” Us while planning his next move. It’s part heist, part survival thriller, and 100% going to be one of those “wait, this actually happened?” movies that everyone talks about.
PROJECT HAIL MARY (2026)
From the author of The Martian comes a story about an astronaut who wakes up on a spaceship with no memory — and slowly uncovers that he may be humanity’s only hope to stop a global catastrophe. It looks like a mix of science, survival, and emotional stakes on a galactic level. Sci-fi fans? This one’s for you.
THE CAT IN THE HAT (2026)
You’re either excited or you’re wrong! A fresh take on the 1957 classic, and honestly? I’m a kid at heart. This movie looks whimsical, weird, and totally worth the hype. Perfect for families and nostalgic millennials.
EDDINGTON (2025)
Set during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, this small-town drama turns up the tension as a sheriff and mayor go head to head, turning neighbor against neighbor in a town ready to explode. If you’re into slow burns with a political edge, this one looks gripping.
AFTER THE HUNT (2025)
A college professor’s life is turned upside down when a student makes a shocking accusation. As the story unfolds, dark secrets from her own past threaten to resurface. This one looks intense, emotional, and incredibly timely.
THE HOME (2025)
When a new employee starts working at a retirement home, it doesn’t take long for things to feel off. Dark secrets, creepy residents, and a mystery just waiting to unravel? This one has “sleeper horror hit” written all over it.
NOBODY 2 (2025)
Bob Odenkirk is back as Hutch Mansell, and this time, he’s trying to have a normal family vacation. Keyword: trying. With corrupt cops, crime bosses, and a theme park gone wrong, this action sequel looks just as unhinged (in the best way) as the first.
CAUGHT STEALING (2025)
What starts as a favor (watching a neighbor’s cat) quickly spirals into absolute chaos when gangsters start showing up. Set in NYC with a punk-rock edge and noir energy, this one’s going to be a wild ride.
Final Thoughts
If these trailers are any indication, we’re about to enter one of the most exciting seasons for movies in a long time. Horror, sci-fi, comedy, thrillers… it’s all coming.
I’ll be watching every single one. Stay tuned to the blog and podcast for reviews, and more, because let’s be real, movie nights are about to be legendary.
