Tucker Pillsbury, better known to the world as Role Model, is entering his next era, and he’s doing it dirty, stripped down, and in full control.
In a new shoot for V Magazine, the genre-blurring singer leans into his heartthrob status while teasing what’s next: the reissue of his beloved track “The Longest Goodbye,” out tomorrow, July 9th, now featuring a new verse from none other than Laufey.
But the music isn’t the only thing Tucker’s shifting. For the first time, he’s stepping in front of the camera in a whole new way, this time, as an actor. In the interview, filmed on the set of his next major project, “Good Sex,” a new film from Lena Dunham currently in production, Tucker opens up about his latest creative lane.

The movie stars Mark Ruffalo and Natalie Portman, and marks a huge moment for Pillsbury, who says acting is “a brand new thing” for him, but something he’s genuinely excited to explore. “I’m so curious to see if I love that,” he admits.
It’s a full-circle moment for the artist, who actually started off in film school before ever picking up a mic. “I fell in love with it,” he says, recalling the early college days when friends loaned him gear and pulled him into DIY recording culture. “For a month, I was just completely obsessed… I still love film, but my brain became fully obsessed with music.”
Tucker isn’t just pivoting. He’s expanding. And if this V Magazine moment is any indication, this next chapter is going to be bold, messy, intimate, and unforgettable, just the way we like it.
