The wait is nearly over. On October 24th, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere hits theaters, with Emmy-winning actor Jeremy Allen White taking on the role of a lifetime; iconic rock legend Bruce Springsteen.

Directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Nowhere, Antlers, Rain, Get Low), the film is inspired by Warren Zanes’ acclaimed book of the same name, which details the making of Springsteen’s deeply personal 1982 album Nebraska.

The official synopsis from 20th Century Studios describes the project as a gripping look into the moments before Springsteen’s global superstardom:

“Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.”

Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”

Production wrapped last year, with Springsteen visiting the set to give his blessing. In fact, White confirmed this firsthand at CinemaCon in April, telling the audience: “I feel really lucky. We all had Bruce’s blessing. The film tells the story of a very pivotal moment, Bruce struggling to reconcile the pressures of success versus his past.”

Fans got their first taste of White’s transformation in the film’s debut trailer this morning, where he delivers a soulful rendition of “Born To Run” that has already set the internet buzzing.

Even the boss himself gave his stamp of approval during his October 18th appearance on The Graham Norton Show, praising White’s approach: “White is a great actor and sings pretty good,” Springsteen said. “This is not easy to do because you can’t do an imitation. You have to do a personal interpretation.”

As a longtime fan of Jeremy’s, dating back to his unforgettable role as Lip Gallagher on Shameless, his quirky turn in Movie 43, the tense thriller The Rental, the critically acclaimed The Iron Claw, and his career-defining performance in The Bear, it’s thrilling to see him take this next leap.

White has consistently proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood—a true star and an icon in the making.

Be sure to see Jeremy Allen White in Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, arriving in theaters October 24th.
