Nicole Kidman for Allure: Photo by Dan Beleiu

Nicole Kidman is the latest cover star of Allure Magazine, and if you needed a reminder that the Oscar-winning actress is both otherworldly and oddly relatable, here it is.

Looking effortlessly elegant and chic (as always), Kidman opens up about her powerhouse year, her personal losses, and her love of…naps? “I’m a huge believer in naps,” she tells Allure. “I can sleep anywhere. Put me on the floor with a sweater, I could fall asleep.” Honestly, mood, because same.

While she may nap like the rest of us, Kidman’s résumé this year has been nothing short of stacked. Her entire career has been, but my god this year has been IT.

She just stared in Holland, a psychological thriller now streaming on Prime Video. In 2024 alone, she delivered knockout performances in Lioness (Paramount+), The Perfect Couple (Netflix), A Family Affair, the animated musical Spellbound, and of course, her scene-stealing turn as the no-nonsense CEO in Babygirl… a role already cemented in pop culture history.

She also leads the drama series Expats (out now on Prime Video), and is gearing up for the release of Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, dropping later this month on Hulu.

But behind the glam and grit of her career, Kidman is also opening up about personal change. The actress recently lost her mother, and shared how deeply that shifted her world. “Losing my mother changed every part of me,” she revealed. “I spoke to her every second or third day… that was the rhythm of my day.”

Kidman is embracing the future with compassion and clarity. “I’m in the process of being able to produce shows that I don’t have to be in,” she shared. “Igniting people’s careers, seeing them take flight, I get an enormous amount of joy from that… I can help you.”

And after an action-packed year? She’s pressing pause. “I’m taking the summer off,” she said. Deserved.

From global icon to nap queen, Nicole Kidman is showing us all how to live fully, on our own terms.
