The All-American Rejects recently sat down with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly for an open and nostalgic chat at Little Dom’s in Los Angeles, a spot close to frontman Tyson Ritter’s heart.

It’s a neighborhood staple for me,” Tyson shared. “I lived in Los Feliz for almost a decade before I moved. It felt right doing this here.”

During the Billboard chat, Nick and Tyson discussed everything from the highs and lows of touring to wild things fans have thrown on stage over the years. They also shared their honest thoughts on AI in music and how rock might, or might not, embrace it.

Over the past week, the band have been crashing house parties across the Midwest, throwing surprise shows in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri. Their May 18th stop in Minneapolis even drew the attention of the police, now THAT is rock and roll.

Before the amps were pulled, Tyson gave the crowd a message that hit harder than any encore:

We’re not trying to sell you finance tickets to Coachella, we’re not trying to sell you Ticketmaster fucking penalty fees, we’re not trying to sell you $25 parking,” he said. “We’re just trying to sell you some songs you might have grown up with.”

The band wrapped the Billboard interview with a little “Dirty Little Secret” storytime, reminiscing about the track that helped shape a generation of misfit heartbreakers and alt-radio fans.

The All-American Rejects aren’t just back… they’re reborn. And with house parties, hot takes, and a major summer tour on the horizon, they’re reminding everyone exactly why we missed them in the first place.
