Selena Gomez just dropped the sweetest surprise… literally. The singer, actress, icon, and Rare Beauty founder has officially announced her collab with Oreo to release a limited-edition cookie inspired by one of her favorite flavors: horchata.
The custom Oreo, described as tasting like a sip of the classic Mexican drink made from milk, ground rice, and cinnamon, was developed with Selena’s personal touch.
“Even if you’ve never had horchata, it was my goal to ignite a sense of familiarity when someone takes a bite,” she shared in a new interview with People.
Selena, who has long been a fan of Oreo cookies, said the collaboration felt like an authentic match. “I am selective when deciding to partner with brands because it always needs to be something authentic to me,” she said.
“Like most people, I’ve loved Oreo cookies for as long as I can remember and so when I was approached to collaborate on my own flavor, it was something I couldn’t say no to.”

The creative process was more than just a taste test, it was a passion project. Selena explained that she was hands on in developing the flavor: “Going back and forth getting the flavors just right; not too much cinnamon but not too little condensed milk… I wanted it to be perfect.”
Beyond the cookies, the collab also has heart. A portion of proceeds from the treat will go towards the Rare Impact Fund, which connects young people with mental health resources.
“For me, this is the most important part of partnering with Oreo,” Sel said. The donation will help move the Rare Impact Fund closer to its goal of raising $100 million.
Selena’s custom Oreo cookies will be available for presale online starting in two weeks, June 2nd. You can sign up to try the flavor first here! Fans can pick them up in stores beginning June 9th.
