Pop-punk royalty is back, and this time, they’re teaming up.

Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan have officially dropped their long-awaited collaboration, “Young & Dumb,” out now. A high-energy, nostalgia-fueled duet, the song is both a celebration of their shared past and a love letter to the fans who have been there since day one.

Avril took to Instagram to share the excitement, writing: “Young & Dumb is out now! We had so much fun making this song and filming this video. This song is dedicated to you all and we can’t wait to play it every night on The Greatest Hits Tour.”

Written earlier this year by Lavigne and Simple Plan, the song was born from a desire to relive, and honor, their earliest memories in the music industry.

“We wanted to capture that special time in our lives, when everything was new, and we were chasing our dreams,” Avril told People. “This song is for our fans. It’s a tribute to the past, but also a celebration of the present. In our hearts, we’re still those same kids, and our love for music hasn’t changed.”

Simple Plan added, “The lyrics speak to the special bond we’ve shared since we first toured together back in 2003. We became friends right away, and what’s amazing is how that friendship has only grown stronger over the years.”

The release arrives just days before Avril Lavigne kicks off the next final summer leg of her Greatest Hits Tour, launching May 19th in Nebraska. With special guests Simple Plan, We The Kings, and Fefe Dobson, the tour will hit major cities like Boston, New York, Hershey, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale, alongside a mix of headline and festival dates.

The track and tour mark a full-circle moment for Lavigne and Simple Plan, who first toured together over 20 years ago. “We were so young, just a bunch of kids from small towns in Canada who had just released our debut albums,” Avril recalled. “We connected instantly and became friends.”
