Miley Cyrus is fully stepping into her next chapter, and last night in New York City, a select group of people got a preview of her new album, Something Beautiful, dropping May 30th via Columbia Records.
The exclusive event, held in partnership with Spotify, gave attendees a first look at the accompanying visual film for the album, plus confirmation of two major features: Brittany Howard and Naomi Campbell.
Miley described the album as “the gayest” and “best” of her career, telling attendees: “It’s about destruction and being beautiful. All of you know I’ve always had ups and downs—losing homes, losing lovers, losing animals. I sing about love a lot… This film is the end of the rainbow for me.”

She also teased an encore edition of the album featuring the fan-hyped track “REBORN,” which has been described by attendees as giving major Britney Spears energy—an ode to rebirth, resilience, and pop euphoria.
Miley even addressed her infamous unreleased leaks, joking, “All my demos are on YouTube. I think you guys have heard Mirror… Taste of My Own, that one was a banger. Nightmare, Fucked Up Forever is so good.” Honestly, facts.
But let’s address the not-so-glamorous part: while this was technically called a fan event, it felt more like an inner circle hangout. The same usual names appeared on the guest list, no surprise there. And in a new tweet, someone shared that a guy at the event said, “Miley isn’t even in his top 25, he just got an invite.” Make it make sense.
Still, the music sounds like it’ll be worth the wait. Something Beautiful is shaping up to be a stunning, cinematic, and emotional body of work, and whether you’re in the front row or refreshing social media for scraps, one thing’s clear: Miley is in her masterpiece era.
