Joe Keery has officially leveled up! Stepping far beyond his Stranger Things fame, the actor-turned-alt-pop powerhouse has just dropped his third studio album under the moniker Djo, and it’s his most immersive, emotionally charged project to date. Titled The Crux, this record isn’t just an album—it’s an experience. One that swirls together psychedelic textures, synth-drenched melodies, and introspective lyrics that cut deeper than ever before.
Recorded at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in NYC, The Crux feels like a late-night drive through your own mind—filled with warped neon lights, hazy memories, and the lingering question of who you’re becoming. Co-produced with longtime collaborator Adam Thein, the album expands on Djo’s signature retro-futuristic style while leaning harder into vulnerability and sonic risk-taking.
Tracks are layered with analog synths, rich harmonies, and unexpected shifts that pull you deeper into Djo’s headspace. The emotional weight behind every lyric feels intentional. It’s weird, it’s heartfelt, it’s experimental—and it works.
If you’re ready to hear it live, Djo is currently touring across North America, bringing The Crux to life on stage with support from none other than Post Animal, the psychedelic rock band Keery once played in. The tour heads to Europe in June, and judging by early fan reactions, this is a show you don’t want to miss.
Tickets are available now, and The Crux is streaming everywhere!
