Last night, Charli XCX took over Saturday Night Live, which was nothing short of iconic. The dual threat of hosting AND performing? She made it look effortless—no sweat, just sparkle. For the doubters? This was Charli’s ultimate clapback, wrapped in glitter and sealed with a kiss.
From the second she stepped on stage for her opening monologue, Charli oozed charisma. She playfully teased her journey from a young pop darling to a full-fledged global sensation, proving she knows exactly who she is: our favorite party girl.
But the real moment? The performances. Julia Fox introduced Charli for the first performance of the night, 360, and yes– it was so Julia.
The skits were just as fabulous. Charli brought energy, cuntiness, and an unbothered coolness to every character. Her comedic timing? Impeccable. Who knew our fave could deliver punchlines as flawlessly as she does bops? And the fashion? Oh baby, talk about brat! Each look was an event because why have one serve when you can have two?
My personal favorite moment of the night, though, is definitely the second performance; my favorite song off of brat, “Sympathy is a Knife.” An electrifying performance that will be a part of history forever; and yes, the audience was collectively gagged.
To anyone who’s ever dared to underestimate her, Charli’s hosting and performances were a loud and unapologetic declaration: she’s here, she’s fabulous, and she’s unstoppable. She’s not just a pop star; she’s the moment.
