Zane Phillips and jewelry brand, Awe Inspired, took to social media yesterday to announce their incredibly inspiring collaboration for pride month. “We are so proud to work with Zane Phillips, breakout gay actor and the very image of Achilles reborn, for Awe’s fourth running Pride campaign,” the company shared.

The queer-founded jewelry brand made Zane the face of the newest edition to the family; their first ever male pendant. “One of the most iconic ancient Greek heroes is a gay man,” Awe wrote in a press release. “The profoundly moving, dazzling and tragic love story of Achilles & Patroclus bloomed in the ancient world and spilled across a battlefield, transcending the boundaries of societal norms, tradition and even life itself.”

While a lot of companies continue to slap a pride flag on their products to make a sale, Awe has a different mission; an inspiring one at that. All proceeds from the new collection will go directly towards GLSEN, which works to ensure that LGBTQ+ students are able to learn and be in an environment free from bullying and harassment. 

Awe Inspired was founded in 2017 by mother, business woman, and three time cancer survivor, Jill Johnson. The company, which was also co-founded by Jill’s son, Max Johnson, aims to inspire and empower all people; regardless of who you are or where you come from.

I wanted to share this with you guys because when I found out about this collection, it truly brought me to tears. Seeing a Mother and Son build a company that is made up of self expression, love, and courage is one of a kind. More people like Jill, Max, and of course Zane, are needed in this world.
